Introduction
Silicone base lubricant is useful in long lasting lubrication so in post we learn about what's composition of silicon lubricants, when to use, when to avoid & what's are benefits of silicon base lubricants.
Composition:
Silicone Oils - Main ingredients - dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, or dimethiconol All are direvied from silica
Thickeners - (Glycerin, Hydroxyethyl cellulose, Propylene glycol) - Give texture and viscosity
Addictive - moisturizing agents (e.g., vitamin E))
No water - Unlike water-based lubes, they contain no water, making them highly stable and prevent evaporation.
Details :
Texture: Extremely smooth, silky, and non-sticky; feels luxurious compared to other types.
Appearance: Mostly clear and odorless.
Duration: Very long-lasting, absorbed by skin quickly.
Safety: Generally safe for skin and mucous membranes, Carefully during selection made from this material, Cyclotetrasiloxane (D4) & Cyclopentasiloxane (D5), & Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) may be harmful for skin.
Pros -
Long-Lasting: Ideal for prolonged activities.
Waterproof: Effective well in wet environments like showers, baths, or pools.
Condom-Safe: Can be used with latex and polyisoprene condoms (but not polyurethane).
Low Maintenance: doesn’t evaporate or not require frequent reapplication.
Hypoallergenic: Inert and less likely to cause allergic reactions or disrupt vaginal flora compared to water- or oil-based options.
Cons:
Toy Incompatibility: Can degrade silicone sex toys (Make toys sticky or damage)
Harder to Clean : Required soap for cleaning
Not Edible : Tasteless and not safe for ingestion
Cost: Expensive than water base lubricant
Potential Slip Hazard: Can make surfaces (e.g., shower floors) dangerously slick.

Silicone Toys: Avoid use with silicon toys, it can be used with glass, Hard plastic or metal toys.
